Excerpt from the Sept. 14, 2010 Houston Chronicle titled “A paradise for wine lovers” by Dale Robertson
“Krutar Patel calls his new west side wine bar, Winetopia, “A Vino Paradise.” So heavenly is the place that patrons will literally be walking on wine when they enter because the concrete floor will be stained with a couple heavy coats of red wine.
No, it won’t be grand cru stuff, but the effect should be interesting. And look at the money he stands to save in cleaning costs. Tipsy cab lovers can’t wreck the carpet.
Although Patel — call him KP, he says – hasn’t completely re invented the wheel with Winetopia (6363 San Felipe at Voss, on the ground floor of the new Fairmont apartment complex), he has rolled it in some different directions. The 170 wines on his inaugural list – culled from more than 2,000 he says he tasted – are virtually all boutique producers and sold by very small distributors/importers. He didn’t buy from the city’s two 800-pound gorillas, Glazer’s and Republic.

What are Wine Flights?
Wine flights, also sometimes referred to as tasting flights, are tastings of multiple wines, in order to get a feel for breadth or depth. Wine flights are usually intended for those new to the experience of tasting wine, or those who want to increase their understanding of a specific region, vintage, or varietal. Our flight/tasting program is offered all day and will change every month. The flights are 5 glass tastings for $15. Please ask our wait-staff for this month's flight.

Hey KP! This is Phil…I shot the video for you. I see you are embedding the video from my YouTube channel. I wonder if Yelp did not work out? I also see you are running a Google Offer. Great Job! I hope things are working out.
