Here is another review from 2011 about Winetopia by our friend Jennifer Molina with Jenn-Uncorked!
Hello Friends,
After the disaster with Opala, I needed to visit my favorite wine bar (in Houston) and have my faith in white wine restored.
Winetopia is a winos paradise. They carry wines that will not be typically found at the grocery or liquor store. KP and Nina are the owners and are fantastic people. They are passionate consumers just like Jenn UnCorked!
I told KP about my issue with Vhino Verde and he said not to give up but definitely to forget Opala. He walks away mid sentence and returns with a slender bottle, and I am thinking “well he knows I like Riesling, time to make me happy”. The pour smelled sweet like Riesling and had the same coloring. My first sip was surprising because it was not sweet but refreshing and crisp. The wine tastes like a juicy pear that lingers perfectly with a very smooth finish. He notes my surprise. Read More

Experts from Winetopia in Houston, Texas: A Short Review of a Real Wine Bar:
Winetopia is a wine bar, so when you walk in that is mainly what you will see bottles of wine on each side along the walls and in front a small bar which remains open. The venue’s décor resembles a wine cellar with Spanish and Italian country accents, which make it a cozy little place, because it is quite small in size but worth to go and try it out.
Winetopia is located at 6363 San Felipe at the corner of Winrock and it can be easily missed because it is hidden by the gas station and its hours of operations are from Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and it stays closed on Sunday.
The venue offers also different events such as a jazz and wine night, or a free wine tasting, a room for art galleries from local artists and jewelry showcase or even wine classes, so you always have an extra reason to attend.
Being a wine bar, the list of wine is extensive and if you are not a wine connoisseur, the owner turned barman is very helpful and usually picks the right one for your taste, and he is friendly and fast even if the place gets filled up. The service thanks to him (but even the other staff is quite friendly and helpful, just not as fast) gets an A+. They have wines from all over the world such as the Muscat de Beaumes de Venise 2008 from France, or Greece’s Atlantis, or the Tozai Blossoms of Peace Plum Wine from Japan to Italy’s Prosecco, you can order a glass or a bottle; the bottle is more convenient if its three or four people if everyone agrees on the same wine, or you can order beer too.
For food, they do not have much but small plates that balance out the wine, such as the cheese and cold cut platter for $15, or the cheese and fruit plate for $10, or even the large hummus and pita chips for $6.00. However if the choices are not enough and one is really hungry, Winetopia has a bring your own food policy, so you can order a pizza from across the street.
The wine is excellent and the food is not so bad either, as the cheese and fruit plate comes with fresh berries such as blackberries, blueberries and strawberries, therefore the venue gets an overall A.
Come to Winetopia on Sat. March 17th and get $2 green beers and $4 Guinness all night long! Come so us your green!

We will be offering our 60+ Handcrafted beers and Microbrews at our Happy Hour pricing throughout the game! We will also have other drink specials on our amazing wine selection. So come on over to Winetopia this Saturday and enjoy a great game!
We feature high quality wines from around the world. We search for exceptional handcrafted wines and personally taste and select each one that we bring in. We have a great selection of hard to find wines. Our wines are small production wines and are not found in retail stores. Since we specialize in only small production wines, we do not have a traditionally written wine list (our inventory changes so often that we would be killing so many trees if we tried to keep up with a written list and we don’t want to kill trees). Our list consists of all the bottles on the shelf and our knowledgeable staff. Stop in and learn more about them from our knowledgeable staff.
Come bring your dogs to Winetopia next time you take them out. We have doggy treats and water bowls for your best friends. Which wine bar lets you do that? (Dog only allowed on the outside patio.)
Need a place to book your next event? Reserve your next party with us. We offer a private room that accommodates up to 20 to 30 people. Please contact us for more details.
Rohan Meadery will be at Winetopia to do a Texas Mead tasting on Dec. 2 from 6 to 9pm. The tasting will be $7/person (Wineclub members are FREE!)

What are Wine Flights?
Wine flights, also sometimes referred to as tasting flights, are tastings of multiple wines, in order to get a feel for breadth or depth. Wine flights are usually intended for those new to the experience of tasting wine, or those who want to increase their understanding of a specific region, vintage, or varietal. Our flight/tasting program is offered all day and will change every month. The flights are 5 glass tastings for $15. Please ask our wait-staff for this month's flight.
